![]() ![]() Our recent dining experiences elsewhere were not good-mediocre food quality, small portions, and overpriced entrees with underwhelming service. to because we really wanted a full dinner and fortunately that menu was also available. We were tempted to get the combo package of a ticket to a performance of the Goodspeed by the River show the night we were going along with a limited menu meal (mostly sandwiches and burgers) at the nearby Gelston House. Shame that they allowed this piece of history to deteriorate. I am hopeful the owners see this review and revamp not only the whole restaurants facade but the menu and food as well. No paper towel in the shared bathroom and the toilet had a permanent stain of yellow so it looked as if it had not been flushed. Looking around the dining room, you just wanted to take a scrub brush and clean. Was not worth $2.00! We asked Josephine if that could possibly be correct, and she simply stated that's what the desserts cost. We ordered the cheesecake which was literally a normal sized piece cut in down the middle with not one drop of garnish. We then proceeded to ask for the dessert menu. In total we had the Sheppard's pie, the blackened fish tacos and the salmon sandwich. Except they placed couple piece of beets on the dish and threw on some dried cranberries. We received a dish of 8 over fried rings. The menu is very limited and there are no specials. She took care of the hole dining room as well as sat all arriving guests. She was a bit frazzled since as we realized later, she was the only waitress on that evening. We waited a good 5 minutes for Josephine to come out of the kitchen. Inside you are greeted by numerous empty food storage cases. Upon walking up to the door, the building is in need of a much-needed painting and repair.
